RCTech Outreach Program


RCTech OUTREACH provides low-income individuals and their families with quality renewed desktop computers and laptops for an affordable fee. The equipment comes with free learning modules to help low income learners meet their educational and career goals.


How do I qualify?

To be eligible for the computers from RCTech, your income must be below those in the following table (approximate):

What computer can I expect?

RCTech is a not-for-profit organization. They get the computers from corporate donors who turn them over every three years. The data is scrubbed and the computers professionally refurbished. Sponsored by National Government of Canada. The desktop computer costs $60 and the laptop costs $150. Follow the links at the bottom of the page to learn more.


What documents do I need?

You need to provide a proof of assistance from:

  • Ontario Works
  • Ontario Disability Support Program
  • Employment Insurance (benefit statement)
  • Current OSAP statement
  • Second Career agreement
  • Refugee Payment from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRC)

You also need to provide current Notice of Assessment prepared by Revenue Canada. Paystubs, bank statements and T4s are NOT accepted.

Please keep your income taxes up to date, otherwise the government has no way of knowing if you qualify for any of the programs or not.
